'On any other night you're saying great result' - Thompson
Steven Thompson says the fact Rangers were unable to go top of the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night took some of the gloss off their performance against Ross County.
Philippe Clement's side dominated during their 3-1 victory, but were unable to secure the three-goal margin of victory required to overtake Celtic at the top.
"It's going to be so tight right until the end; that's what Philippe Clement is trying to get across - don't get too excited just now," the former Rangers striker said on Sportsound. "That's the right way to do it.
"On any other night, you're saying, 3-1 - great result, played well, and you're going home delighted, but because of that wee edge that was on it and because of the 43 shots and the total dominance, it takes a slight bit off.
"It should have been a bigger victory."
